This section showcases BECI's unique synthesis products - cross-regional analyses and knowledge compilations that no single organization could create alone. These documents synthesize lessons learned, management responses, and ecological patterns across the North Pacific basin.
Comprehensive synthesis of management actions taken during marine heatwave events across the North Pacific (2014–2024). Documents fishery closures, quota adjustments, monitoring enhancements, and emergency response measures from 15+ documented events.
Cross-organizational synthesis comparing climate change adaptation approaches across North Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (NPFC, WCPFC, IATTC). Analyzes workplan frameworks, harvest strategy innovations, species distribution shift responses, and inter-RFMO cooperation mechanisms to identify transferable best practices.
Basin-wide synthesis of observed species distribution shifts (1990–2024) with analysis of environmental drivers, migration patterns, and implications for transboundary management. Includes predictive frameworks for anticipating future shifts under different climate scenarios.

This interactive platform connects and synthesizes information about changing ocean conditions, key species, and management approaches across the North Pacific. The North Pacific Ocean Knowledge Network is being developed through the Basin-scale Events and Coastal Impacts (BECI) project to transform fragmented research and data into accessible, actionable insights that support climate-informed fisheries management and conservation decisions across jurisdictions.
